CoolFords Designs 2012 Mustang Boss Laguna Seca Custom Car for 2011 SEMA Show

CoolFords.com, the media website centered around Ford cars and the Ford enthusiasts who drive them is pleased to announce its first ever SEMA Show tribute car: a custom 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca. For those not in the loop, the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) expo is just days away and custom vehicle builders and parts manufacturers are in a mad dash to get their projects ready for the show.

The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industrys brightest minds and hottest products each year to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center.

CoolFords covered The SEMA Show last year and after seeing some amazing custom cars and trucks, they fantasized with the idea that one day CoolFords would create its own signature vehicle and have it on display in Vegas. They didnt expect it to happen so fast, but this year with some determination and the right connections, CoolFords made it happen, well kinda. In the spirit of SEMA, they embarked on the first ever CoolFords Project Vehicle, a custom grey and blue 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca that would be on display at the 2011 SEMA Show, given the funds to actually build it.

For this project, CoolFords is very excited to partner with RPM-3D, The Leader in 3D Motorsports Graphics to take their vision and virtually render it. In typical SEMA fashion, this project came down to the wire. With a little over one week before the show, they put the pressure on Justin Jacobs and his crew at RPM-3D to come up with a Ford car design for the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca. CoolFords is extremely pleased with the results and RPM-3D exceeded expectations.

RPM-3D started with a 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Custom 3D Model from Arte3D, a great 3D artist and modeler. Normally, they build their own 3D custom car models from scratch, but time frame and budget constraints did not allow for that, so they setup a licensed model with the help of their own 3D artist “Jeff Strong”, who created the render environment and shader settings. From there they designed the base BOSS 302 Laguna Seca scheme and took the CoolFords.com logo and colors and started rendering out ideas for approval as well as sample camera angles.

The 2012 Mustang BOSS 302 LS is a well known vehicle so they didn’t feel the need to “Re-Invent” the car or the base scheme, but they wanted to provide a custom look specifically for CoolFords. Taking into account that if some day Ford Motor Company or some rich person decided to donate a brand new 2012 Boss 302 LS, then CoolFords may want to actually build this car. So if this dream ever came true they designed it in a way that would allow that to easily take place without too much extra expense or work on their end.
